I wouldn't f thought there would be a problem as alot of people have put a 2.5 in a 1.8 shell without man susp mods

pretty sure you need a new suspension setup as the new engine heavier..

Springs could do with swapping for 6 pot ones. The M50 is a lot heavier than an M40.

see this is what i thought brian... is this going to be a case of buying a complete suspension package for a 4-pot and swapping the front 4-pot "new springs" for a pair of 6-pot springs then?

or if its all new anyway should it hold up the weight etc..... ?

id wait until the engines in to see how high the front ends sitting before you order springs but id definately fit new uprated shocks as well.thats what i did with mine although it was an odd experience driving with spax -40 springs and shocks on the back and standard spings with knackered shocks on the front until the new ones came winkeye

I used 325 suspenson and brakes all round on mine, even ABS
You can pick up some front stuts cheap enough, its worth doing as they use the larger diameter damper inserts 8)

Twiggy, if you want a set of front struts I have some on the 325 I'm breaking.

You could come over and swap them in.

Cheers,
Chris
