Just bought shiny ally rear strut brace - looks pretty, very light. This fits between rear shock towers, i.e. you drill 2 x holes in each pillar and bolt between. not the normal one which bolts to the shock top mounts. anybody used this type of brace? My simple engineers brain says unless I mount a strap inside the tower to match the curved mounting plate on the brace, all the stress on cornering hard will be taken by the thin metal of the tower where the new bolts go through. (The top-mount for the shock is reinforced, so a brace mounted here would spread the load better) Any ideas folks?

Yeah sell it and get a proper one that doesn't require drilling holes in your car which WILL rust!

I had one of these braces on order thinking it was the bolt on type and when I found out it needed holes drilling, I told them to forget it!
