Hi all,
I'm a newbie on this forum - have been on the bmwcc forum for a while but bough an e30 about a week ago and am begining to bring it back to life. The previous owner wasn't too bothered about it so he was happy to part with it for Ԛ┚¬200, it does need some love tho!

I'm having a problem with the windscreen wipers. They work fine when on, all speeds are ok but when you turn them off they don't return to the bottom of the windscreen, they remain at the spot they were when you turned them off.
Does anyone know what this is caused by. Is it the windscreen wiper motor itself or something else?

Thanks,
JohnH

Cheers for the reply, I saw that article but wasn't sure it was related as the symptoms are slightly different.
Out comes the motor on Paddys Day so.

have you tried the relay??? its the long black one in the fuse box under the bonnet. if you know someone else with an e30 use their relay to test before u go and spend any money on any thing else. mine did the same when my relay shorted out.

Would agree with Smiffy on this one. Try the relay first
