car is down to bare metal, cleaned it with wax and grease remover then applied yellow zinc chromate to hood and trunk. do i keep doing this or have i messed up royally? if it is right how long can the zinc chromate stay on until i need to apply something else? over it?

would help if you told us what you are trying to do with the shell, paint it or cover it in zinc and store it.
