Right - as far as I remember - this hasnt come on since Ivehad the car.
Ive checked the wire/switch under the gaiter and it appears fine there.
Bulb comes on when ignition is turned on so its not a bulb
Any ideas guys?

Could be a breakage somewhere along the wire, maybe just before or after it connects to the clip under the gaitor? All it does it complete a circuit when the handbrake is pulled up. Are you sure the wires are making proper contact under the gaitor?
