Anyone know of an outfit who could pressure test my M42 head? The nearer to Sale, Manchester or Buxton the better!

Cheers mate, will check them out. I work in Sale by the fire station... not seen your cab around - looks well nice. Where's Chris-W?

The place I use is in Crewe if that's any use to you. Never used anyone over the new-money-footballer side of Cheshire :)

I use Impulse Developments in Rochdale, it's a bit of a trek for you but their work is top notch.

Brilliant thanks guys.

Can you advise, will I need to remove the camshafts and valves?

Right, even better I just found this top bloke right round the corner from where I work. He does work for a lot of garages in the area including Williams BMW. He even has some Boeing 747 wheels in for bearing re-fitting! Sounds like he'll repair pretty much anything (not interested in port/polich though - too time consuming). He was recommended by Eddie at Cross Street Garage.

He's removing the camshafts and valves, pressure testing and will skim if necessary, check valves and decoke, and reassemble with new stem seals. (Assuming it passes the pressure test!) . As a guide, pressure test alone is £35.

Just off Washway Road in Sale by a road called Oakfield, opposite the Vine pub.

Will let you know the results...
