Hi guys,
Long time no see... glad to be back, still no BMW yet, but i'm itching here!! I really am!
Just been thinking really on what I want to do with my BMW when I get one... Will the On Board Computer and diagonostics and service interval display (the full featured one) on the 325i still work if I install an aftemarket ECU such as Megasquirt (or possibly Wolf3D)?
I'm guessing they may be linked up in some places. Can anyone enlighten me?
Thanks
OBC still works with Megasquirt?

Uses two inputs from the original ECU - Engine speed (revs) and fuel rate.
The engine speed signal has recently been analysed and posted in another thread by Ian323isport.
I expect the fuel rate signal is similar as well, so if you can build two interfaces between the aftermarket ECU and the instrument cluster, then all should work.

there is a GPIO board available for MS for just such useage, I've no experience of them though.
TBH, apart from the Range and Clock, I've found the OBC to be fairly redundant, indeed I removed mine and retro'd the clock in its place

I find it quite useful, ok it wasn't the most accurate of things but it was quite cool, i may try to work it out when i get a 325. Mind you, if i plan to run a 325 (or indeed a future 335) on LPG AND megasquirt then it further complicates things. Oh the jooooooooy!
