1)I may buy a set of heated wing mirrors complete with cowlings of a different colour to my vehicle. Can the guts be changed over at all please?

2) Talking to the vendor he says they came of an M3 and operated when he put the heated rear window on. Any comments please for fitting same into a touring.

The heated mirror set-up is effectively just the mirror glass, so apart from sorting out wiring to the connectors on the backs, all you need do is swap the glasses.

They don't operate with the rear heated window, they are on permanent, mine are always warm to touch, very good in the rain.

They are not always 'on' but heat up initially to clear the glass then keep it warm.
The answer to your question is yes the loom can be swapped round between the units.
