torque converter

just split the auto box from my m60 v8 to investigate a noise that was coming from the bellhousing area.

Should the torque coverter be bolted solidly to the flywheel.

at the moment i can move it back and forth slightly.

i was under the impression it shouldn't move at all.

only other auto i have worked on was a 3 litre capri and that was bolted solid.

I think they should be solid too mate like a clutch pressure plate on a manual car
