HELP!! hi there i have an 318i cabriolet which has developed a problem with the electric windows where they now only work with the doors open which is not very pratical nor stylish, i have traced the wiring back to a relay above the the glove box which i have now replaced but to no avail, was wondering if anybody here had suffered the same problem and could point me in the right direction also the heater fan has started working intermitantly at the same time any ideas? cheers colcabman

Windows, with the ignition on, work from fuse 17, so check this.
Widows work from unloader relay K5 and heater fan works from unloader relay K7. (Both in the fusebox).
Common link between these two is a black/green wire which goes to the smallest terminal on the starter motor, so check this out.
As a check, pull out K5 and K7 and short together, with a short piece of wire, pins 30 and 87 of their respective sockets.
