Hi guys,
Took my car out of the garage today after about 2 weeks of non use and could smell petrol when it was running.
Looked over and just in front of the passenger rear wheel petrol was dripping out (almost a constant stream).
As soon as I turned the engine off it stopped so I guess it is pump related.
I restarted the car and it started again almost straight away.
I have done a search and it seems the seal ring could go or just a connection.
If I take the fuel cover off from inside the car (under the back seats) and run the engine am I likely to see fuel everywhere?
Otherwise what is the best way to diagnose it (obviously I don't want to drive it far in its current state). I assume it is best to just get underneath it and start the car and see where it is coming from?
Car is a 1990 318is by the way
Cheers
Fuel Leak!!! (well more of a constant stream)

If it's the same as a 325 it sounds like a perished hose or lose hose clip by your petrol filter ?
Jack the car up and you will see a metal guard just in front of the petrol tank held on by 2 or 3 plastic 10mm nut's, your petrol filter if it's the same as the 325 is just behind the guard.
Theres two shaped rubber hoses, if they need replacing they were about 15 quid from Synters for mine.

Change the filter while you are there..... probably not been done for a bit and could be the cause of the leak if its rusted through

run the engine and then lie under the car. as already stated, its probably one of the rubber hoses.
