hi guys, due to my engine head being full of water and my car not working! i decided to get the spanners out.

i am not a mechanic and got the guy next door to give us a hand(he is a little bit more clued up than me)

so... took the air filter, fan, rotary arm and rocker cover etc off to find (as expected) the head to be swamped with emulsified oil!

i dont know where to go next tho... as i said i am no mechanic and really need some more guidance, anyone....?

Belt next and water pump if you can be bothered as it will need a good clean.
Then it's the manifolds if you want to wrestle with them, it's just as easy to leave them on and just undo the downpipe. You'll need to stand in the engine bay to lift it on your own to save breaking your back.

When you undo the head bolts do them about an 1/8th of a turn each at a time untill there under no pressure so you don't bow the head. (thats if it's worth saving)

Once it's off check the gasket for blows and under the camshaft for cracks.
