Hi all.

I recently purchased an engine for my e30 325i. Its from a 1989 525i. The engine looks great but a friend of mine told me that the 525i has had an engine change, and that the engine would probably have a block, head or an intake manifold from a 520i!??

How can I identifi that I have a block, head and intake manifold from a 2.5l and not a 2.0l?? Also, isnt there a difference in the airflow sensor and injectors?

Thank you.

First off welcome to the zone !

Take a pic of the inlet manifols from the top, visit www.imageshack.us upload the pic and then post the link here and we'll let you know.

The 2.5 injectors have blue tops whereas the 2.0 injectors are white.

The head has a 3 digit casting number on the inlet manifold side between the inlet ports and the rocker cover, 731 is 2.0 and 885 is 2.5.

Look at the engine number on the inlet side above the block/sump mating point, ther will be an engine code. B20 is 2.0 litre B25 is 2.5 litre.

If in doubt post pics or tell us what you see.

Cheers,
