Just done a silly thing.

Fitting cruise and OBC together tonight and dropped ECU to put all the usual boxes above it. On side of ECU is a flimsy metal bracket holding two typical plastic multiway connectors - one black plastic and one white.

Well the wires were a bit tight so I unplugged the connectors to get more space. I'm sure I unplugged 2.

Well, come put-it-all-back-together-time, the black ends were there and plugged together but only one white (the captive bit on the side on the ECU) - nothing to plug into it.

It can't have disappeared (and I searched) but I could have sworn I disconnected white as well as black.

Can anyone help?

Car is a 1992 cabrio 325

Tanks in anticipation

This has been covered before, but I doubt a search would help.

Just hope Brianmoooore sees this thread, as Im sure it was him who knew what they were for.

This doesnt really help, but my 1991 325i has both connecters on the side of the ECU but neither are connected to anything.

Can't help you much. These sockets are not used on most E30s.
Only ever seen then used on cars with aircon (one of the pins, black/purple, increases idle speed when aircon is switched on), and on cars with switchable auto boxes.
Yours have either of these?

Yes I have aircon, but it's a manual box.

I'll have another good look round in the morning light...

Whilst I've got some air time... can anyone give me a specific pointer on where the CC clutch switch bracket fits? There is simply nothing around my clutch pedal to fit the bracket to.

Thanks

Andy
