i've just noticed that while installing my obc my wipers were in the 'on' position. No problem there except at the time my windscreen had about half a ton of snow on it which prevented the wipers from moving. Now the snow has cleared i was suprised to find the wipers still work but make a HORRIBLE noise. Anyone know what the problem could be?

Not sure but it could be a burned out motor and or damage to the linkage.
Have a look at where the linkage joins the motor itself. The nut securing the 2 had come undone on my car and the wipers stopped but would work occassionally.
