can any one help me? iv just bought myself an e30 bmw 318 auto about 3 week ago, not on the road yet needs a few bits doing. anyway me being the total numpty had the car in the air on a jack and when i took it down i got distracted and forgot about the axel stand i left in front of the car, i moved the car forward and it went over the axel stand and it flew under the car. immediatly i thought oh S*** i had a look and it was all twisted and sitting right under the prop shaft so i lifted the car up again and removed the mangeled axel stand and saw a slight piercing in a metal casing just above the ehaust and just to the side of the prop shaft. now i can get the gear into Park, Reverse, Neutral and Drive, but not into the 3, 2 or 1. any ideas of what i could have done and if i can repair easily?

Not to sure on the gearing side of things mate but the hole sounds like it's in the heat sheild - no biggy.

2/ Have you damaged the linkage from the selector to the box?

thanks for the info il have a look. iv just decided the car wont be on the road for a long while any way as im going to get a whole load of money together and mod the whole car.
