Just want to check something before I go back to the garage tomorrow to get my front wheels balanced.
Since the rebuild I hadnt had the car over 80 mph until last weekend when I took it for a blast up the dual carriageway up the road to see how it was going.
I had the front wheels balanced while it was getting MOT'd but not the rears.
The car had been sitting for 6 months during the rebuild.
Now when I drive over 80 the car starts shaking pretty bad and the dash and rear view mirror are shaking like mad. It gets better the faster you go or if you go below 60.
If the dash and mirror are shaking is this the front wheels or the back? Im going to get the back done tomorrow morning and get them to check the front again.
Bloody wheel balancing

For me it was the back wheels. I got the rear wheels balanced and the vibrations at around 80ish all but went. Havnt had the front done yet but get the front done and go from there.

as a general rule if you feel it through the steering wheel its usually the front and if its shaking the whole car then its usually the rears. let us know how it is with the rears done.
if you want to test the theory you could swap your rears and fronts round before you get them done to see if the symptoms switch

I've got the same problem at the same speed! I have the sport 15" alloys on at the mo! Come to think of it they never came with the car so my vibration is probably due to the same balancing issue - good to know im not alone, though im sure they were done when i got new tyres - but then again it was done by Nit Wits i mean kwik fit!!
Getting some alps over the weekend. I know they tend to vibrate too but i've got a couple of tricks... i'll post how that goes!

Got the rear wheels balanced this morning and had the front ones done again to make sure. Car is nice and smooth again now so who knows which ones it was!
