Hello Everybody,

I have repaired most of the rusty areas on my project car. The next bit i want to do is start thinking about prepping the car for it's respray. Does anyone have any info or links to give me a really good idea about the stages involved? I would really like to acomplish this myself rather than just pay a bodyshop to do the work for me. I see the chap that did his camaro (nice car by the way! ) did most of the work himself, so i assume it is possible!

Cheers

Rich

There are many ways to prep and paint a car, do your research on the internet and youll come up with several different ways, an example of this is " wet the floor before painting to iliminate dust" some say do other dont. Iv just finishe painting a 205 1.9 covert (ok ok dont hit me it was just for profit wouldnt be seen dead in it!) its a lot of trial and error. Read all you can and take the best bits from what you get. Im fortunate in that my mate has a paint shop and i can ask for advise, but even I went against what the painter said and guess what, brillient results first time.
Also the car sold within 2 days of being listed and yes I did make a nice profit. Im just about to start painting my E30 320 1990. Its white and im going to do the whole thing. wish me luck! 8O
