I know its the big long black one in the fuse box.

Sure it's not the contact disc in the motor? Knackered ones I've seen usually still have high speed functioning.

I'm getting annoyed with these contact disc's. I have 2 perfectly good working motors but both of the 2 contact discs which are buggered, rust and all that.
Anyone succesfully made a new contact disc?

I started experimenting with filling in with solder to sand back to flat once, but must have had something more pressing to do and never finished it...

It's nasty to get out.
Lever the wiper 'prop' off, undo 3x10mm bolts holding motor in it's bracket.
3x10mm bolts holding bracket to body. To get access to the bottom one, unfasten bulkhead panel from inside engine bay (2x7mm bolts & 2 plhillips screws holding a loom plug).
Undo electrical connetctor to wiper motor & pull it out from under it's bracket. Lose skin. Bleed.
Contact disc is on the bottom of the motor under a black plastic cover.
