I'm sure this has been asked before but hey.

Hope to get a leather recaro set and get rid of my sorry comfort cloth.

Just wanted to make sure its a job that can be done by a relative novice. I can see the rear seats being an easy job but what tools will I need for the fronts? How easy is it? Key stages? Estimated completion time?

Any info as always is appreciated!

Cheers in advance!

Only tool needed for the rears is a 10mm socket, and only tool for the fronts is a 17mm socket. Dead easy. Mind the paintwork when you lift the fronts in and out.

Thanks mate!

Didn't think I needed any sockets for the rears? I'm sure I've taken them out before but then again my memory is pretty shoddy these days.

I'm sure I have 10mm and 17mm sockets anyway........i think?!

Anything else I should look out for apart from the paintwork?

Thanks!

Bolts art the rear of the front seats go through to the outside, so might be rusty.
Shoulb be a 10mm self tapper each side of the rear seat back, low down, and hidden by a loose flap of vinyl.

Nice one mate, I'll bare that in mind.

So with regard to the bolts that go through to the outside, will i have to jack the car up to get a wrench on the other side or will they just drop out? although if thats the case i take it i'd have to jack the car up anyways to get the bolts back in once the new seats are in?

No need to get under the car. The nuts are welded to the body, and the bolt heads are inside the car. It's just the bottom end of the threads that are exposed to the elements. Reassemble with copper grease.
