Erm my speedo has stopped working..

2 days ago it was playing up reading then not reading, then last nite it stopped entirely (creating a new game of guess my speed   )

Been underneath and the connector was bodgetastic n fell apart in my hand (combination of black tape, bullet connectors n all sorts), so cut a new connector off another car and soldered it on but its still not working

Does it matter which way round the wires are soldered? Due to them coming off in my hand in the dark and the wires bein identical i just guessed..

Help... :D

not sure about which way the wires go.. but you can always just unplug and swap the connector's over.

Check the wire further up the loom. You should see a rubber grommetty thing under the rear seat. This is where the loom exits the body from. so you'll have to slice the protective coating abit and then trace it all the way back. Mine was corroded an inch from the connectors.. so I think i;'m going to have to pull the loom and get a new one or new wires at least.

You don't have to vandalise the PVC sheath. The speedo wires go through a plug and socket under the rear seat cushion.
The connector to the diff is part of a small loom that goes to the diff, the fuel pump and the level sender.

It's only a small loom, but you have to drop the fuel tank slightly to remove it completely, as the fuel pump and level connectors won't pass through the gap between the top of the tank and the body.
