got a problem with my drivers electric mirror when you press the button to move it up or down it just goes to the left or right

when you press the right and left the mirror does that correctly but when you do it up and down it stil goes left if you pess up i think and right if you press down

i tried a mirror switch from my other car that works fine in that car but my mirror does the same thing the left side passengers mirror is working fine in all directions it does its job but the drivers one is a bit funny

any one else ever had this problem?

A word or two on how the mirror mechanism works. There is only one motor per mirror, and yours works fine. The other thing in your mirror mech. that looks like a motor is an electric gearshift that transfers the drive from left/right to up/down. This unit isn't working in your mirror, which is why your mirror still goes left/right when it should be going up and down.
If this was the passenger mirror, I'd point you towards the door pillar sockets on both doors, but since it's the driver's door, then it probably is the mirror itself.

Take the glass off the mirror(look under bottom edge of glass and you can just see a couple of what look like gear teeth. Push these sideways with a small screwdriver through a small hole under the mirror housing).
You will see a circular mechanism held in place by four small screws. Four wires in the back, which pull out.
Replace this mechanism complete.

Nice to think that the wing mirrors have gearboxes!

Yep, a gearbox with electric shift in each mirror! Usual failure mode for mirrors is that they just click instead of moving. The click is the gearshift operating.
