Another annoying characteristic...a misfire

Something else I've noticed with my car recently that's starting to get annoying, accellerating away from a junction or roundabout etc, get to about 3k rpm in 3rd gear and I get a momentry stutter, not a flat spot as if the mixture was wrong, but it it feels like the engine misses a signal or something, it's gone in an instant but it's enough to produce a shunt through the drive train.

What's even wierder is if I then slow down and try and replicate it by accellerating through 3rd again nothing happens, I haven't been able to provoke it, it only happens occasionally when I run it through the gears from a junction.

Any ideas?

what type of engine/car........have you tried to chane the dme relay they are often at fault they overheat and cut the fuel out for a very short time
