just got my 'itrip' (a device for connecting ipod to stereo) but it wont work due to my cig lighter socket not working!! my stereo works and i thought these were controlled by the same fuse??? any ideas please guys??

not same fuse there the same as the electric windows when the engine is off!
check that first, if it inst change the cigarette lighter ive had 2 where they just dont work after a while.
very easy job to swap them over

i dont have elec windows?? what fuse is it in the fuse box?

Fuse 28 is the cigarrette lighter. Red/yellow wire which goes through a two pin plug and socket above the glovebox, and also comes out at the top left pin of the accessories socket.
