The material on the o/s bolster on the driver's Recaro seat has worn through and seriously needs repairing. Please can anyone advise on this. Options seem to be: 1) Find a worn seat with similar material an cannibalise it for a patch, 2) Find a similar seat in not worn condition or 3) Find a suitable upholsterer. Any comments or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Seat covers are still available from BMW dealers, but I think you have to buy a set, and will end up with some d7bits you don't need.
A good plan for anyone whose seat backs are beginning to show signs of wear is to swap the passenger and driver's seat backs over.
Easy job on 4 doors; a little bit more involved on 2 doors brcause of the cables to the levers.

Many thanks, again, Brian. Will try the main dealers, expensive though that might be. I don't think the other option will work because this part is work right through to the bolster.

Rather than patching it (which'll never look right - I've tried!), try and find another bolster panel & just swap it over. That side of a passenger seat won't usually wear out so hopefully you'll manage to find one... What material is it? I did the same with my leather - the new bolster wasn't quite the same colour, but it will be soon as I'm re-dying the whole lot!
