   Ive got an 84 323i which was recently upgraded to a 2.7i engine. my problem is that when its idling i can rev it all the way to 7500 RPM easily but when i drive it it cuts of at 3500 RPM which im sure you would agree is sad because of all the power not being utilised. the chip has been changed as well as the trottle body. what could be the problem. Please help.

i had a similar problem after my 2.7 converstion. it turned out to be a combination of water running on the ecu through the vent near the windsheild (i don't think this would be your problem as mine is a US spec). and the flywheel sensor on the bellhousing had a ton of grease smeared on it. im not sure if this is any help but something to check out.
