I think its the abs loom as the car has no abs unit under the bonnet (im assuming it would be in the same place as my 325i's?).

My mate has just asked me what this plug is in the boot of his 318is. its passenger side next to the shock turret.

Ah that may be it, its had an extra arial itted to the drivers rear wing so its quite a possability.

Doesn't look like a BMW fitting. Only think in the boot like an abs ecu is switchable auto brain. I think it's from the car phone.
