Does anyone know if it's possible to adjust the angle of the front bumper? When it was fiited (by some monkey) it doesn't sit parrallel with the edge of the wing. Is it a case of undoing the two bolts that hold the guides and sliding them up? or is there no adjustment.

I've had the car for about a year now and it's always annoyed me, finally today I thought I'd have a go, removed the lower spoiler/valance bit, removed the bumper only to find a dirty great big rust hole in the metal valance  so another question is: Can you replace the metal valance without welding/cutting, is it a bolt on job?

Any help would be much appreciated as I'm really starting to hate this bloody car 8O

If it's not clear I can go and take a photo of what I mean...

not sure about adjusting the bumper but i do know that the metal front panel can be replaced without welding as its held on by several bolts and a couple of torq head screws i think.

the front bumper (mtech or otherwise) is adjusted in two ways.

1. as you said the two runners on the front wings can be loosened and slide up or down, forward or backwards. sometimes it may be necessary to get a round file in there if the standard adjustment is not enough

2. the two struts that hold the center of the bumper on can also be adjusted up down left right. so by a combination of the four fixings the bumper can be adjusted to fit straight, and flush with the wheel arch.

note.... if you have it set too low from the two centre mountings you will have trouble gettitng the lower valance upper clips back on, its a two man job really.

you can see the loocation of the fixings here (sorry covered in paper for the respray) but give you an idea of what i maen when i say centre mounts (two are visible, but under paper!) and side mounts, just infront of the wheel

Thank you mrLEE30 this helps me a lot :thumb: I didn't realise the centre mounts were adjustable, I reckon my centres are to high and the side guides too low.

Just wish it would stop raining so I can get my spanners out :?

nee botha!

tip is to replace the valance upper clips (only pence from dealer) and make sure all six are there (or five , old age numbing the brain!), they are a pig to get on hence why you need two to do this job, i used a metal ruler to guide the valance into the clips as it is a tight fit to the bottom of the bumper. dont forget, the bumper must go on before the valance!!! a mistake i made at first  oh and i junked the expanding rivets that hold the bottom of the valance on in favour of stainless steel nuts and bolts.
