Hi all, got an annoying problem with the sunroof on my 318is, its clicking a turn to late, i.e when i close it from the tilt position it clicks before it has closed. Do i have to remove the headling panel then remove the mech of the cables turn it back a turn then refit or can it be done another way? Also how hard is the headling panel to remove? If it is not to hard does anyone have a black electric sunroof one as i have a electric motor, mounting panel and loom so i could always fit that insted.

well i've fitted the electric motor, but i've got 2 problems. 1. the three bolts that hold the electric motor to the bracket and the cable tubes i can only get 2 of the 3 to meet up with the holes, so when i go to slide the sunroof back it jumps out of the cables. I can tilt the sunroof up and most of the way down before it jumps out. Any ideas, im going to try jublie clips and possibly a cable tie. The other problem is the relay, the motor was working fine with all the cabling just hanging down, when i attached the relay to roof via the braket and a screw i blow the fuse when i operate the sunroof (this is a big problem as i can always use leccy tape to secure it)

The way around the slightly incorrect spacing of the motor holes is to drill all three of the holes through the motor slightly oversize. You will need a longer screw than standard and a small spacer for the screw nearest the lsft hand side.
You must be shoert circuiting something when you screw the relay up. No need for any bodging, just work out what you're doing wrong.

Interesting.. mine did the same. Just plugged it up, bolted the relay to the backing plate.. being sandwiched by the motor.. and the fuse blew. Not sure what would happen if I bolt it to the body work.. not sure about the space allowable. i'll give it a go tomorrow!
