e30 325i sport - lack of power help!!!

i own a e30 325i sport that has recently had a sudden lack of power,it was origanaly at around 3000 revs but now its random (sometimes fine throught the drive) i even have had it break down twice and half an hour later its started fine!!? With this problem i decided to get an inspection 2 but just three days of having it back it had this lack of power witch just suddenly the needle drops for a second or two.Anyway i took it back to the garage for a new on board computer and still doesnt work,so finaly i changed the ignition leads and it worked absolutely fine for three or so weeks then suddenly i get a lack of power and the engine cuts out!!!!!!!!!! please help me

firstly welcome to the zone mate.

secondly, change the DME relay on the NS inner wing, usually white, its the only 5 pin unit there. buy a new one and try again, it can cause exactly what you've described as it will cut power to the whole EFI system as and when it fails.

Cheap enough and easily DIY'd, 1st item on my list for sure
