i would like to swap my 1988 320 6cyl engine for a similar aged 325 engine...how much work would it take and would diff, prop, gearbox electrics have to be changed.

or is it a straight swap?????

it couldnt be more simple. even the wiring loom is the same.

Its a basic in and out job

the 320i gearbox even fits

but if you want to fit the 325 gearbox then you will normally need to change the prop shaft aswel as it is normally shorter on the 325i as the gearbox is slightly longer.

another thing i reccomend is to put a large case 325i diff in aswel as youll find the normall 320i small case diff breaks very easilly. i went through 3 in a week!

Good luck
