All,

I'm having a problem with a leak inside the car. When I pour water down the external vent (passenger side - below windscreen) it eventually makes its way through the dashboard and onto the carpets. Along with this, the location of where it final drips down to is exactly in the centre of the dash - just up from the gear stick. This is causing the water to split and go into both footwells.

Anyone got any ideas on how I go about solving this problem without completely removing the dash. I had thought about pouring rad weld - the stuff that blocks up holes in radiators - down the vent, but will wait on responses before i do that!

Old carpet has been binned, with replacement ready to go in once leak is fixed!

Rav

PS Elephant trunk and all other drains were cleaned and are working fine!

If the drains are clear, then it can only be rust. Take the grills and the bulkhead access panel off and have a good look.

On the bulkhead! Pull off the rubber seal that the back of the bonnet closes against, and you will see that the middle of the bulkhead is a seperate panel.
Bit of wiring etc. in the way, but it's held on by four 7mm self tappers.
