I'm just starting this and it seems a popular topic right now. However - AFAICS - people on this list don't seem to be aware of the following write up which is well worth a look, maybe even repost here with author's permission:

It's very comprehensive and covers fully the fitting of an auto cc system to a manual car which is a common necessity since there seem to be a lot more auto cc systems around than manual.

I just fitted cruise from a left hooker auto to my right hand drive manual yesterday having modified the loom at the weekend. I have to say it feels a bit weird at first but i really like it

Fitting of cruise has been discussed on here quite a few times now, and should provide all the information needed, one of the mods has also done a writeup, but was waiting for some pics to put towards the article.
