In the seemingly never ending quest to get the Tourer running right, I've just had a look at the TPS.
I've cleaned it out as best I can, re-assembled everything and just carried out an electrical check on it.

Pins 1 & 2 are short cct with the throttle closed but go open cct with the TPS 'click' & the throttle just off idle point.
All OK there so I'm led to believe.

Pins 1 & 3 are open cct, but no matter what the position of the throttle, they don't go short cct.
I thought this was supposed to happen at about the 2/3 throttle point?

Could this be the source of the intermittent, erratic RPM problem this car has been having, for me and previous owners??? :?

I thought that the std TPS was click for open/part throttle from idle and then only registered when WOT was reached, so only one click and then fully opened. Sorry if that's wrong but I removed mine ages ago and have a mustang one now which doesn't click or anything :D

Ian, I've emailed the man that will know for you...he'll be here later on.
Plus I got your email and will revert back to you later.

Mark.

the idle position is a micro switch so all good there

the WOT is triggered around 70% throttle so should be cct @ anywhere above, this stage is a tang inside the TPS that moves with the trigger sector from 70-100% throttle input

you'll probably find the internal tang is either corroded to hell, or broken hence the issues Iain.

chuck a spare one on there and try again mate

Once again, members of the Zone Superheroes Team come to the rescue :notworthy:
Picked up a spare TPS from the scrappy this morning, but that one does the same as mine
I'll see if I can get hold of another tomorrow.

Cheers fellas.
