HI there guys,

just got a 325i manifold for a 320i (both M20) and throttle body to match. Having a few issues with different vacuum hoses and mountings. Has anyone done this before and do you have any handy tips??

Jon :)

p.s. looking for 325i raw pipe now as 320 one is too small! :P

i did this on mine not long ago there is only one vacuum line on the back of the manifold to the fuel reg. on the rubber hose bit the idle speed motor on mine was different so now it sits on a stupid angle because i havnt gotten a later model rubber intake bit. this was the only problem i had. i did the swap in less than an hour.

i found no difference in mountings or vac lines or anything apart from the idle speed motor.

Jon... you ported the 320 head to match the 325 inlet shapes...? No point in doing this mod without doing that first dude. If you haven't, there'll be a huge step that the airflow will hate and it won't flow right at all.

You will need the larger 325 intake bellows too as the 320 is smaller, as already said.

my ports on the head are larger than the ports on the 325 manifold im gonna pull it off and get the manifold ported to match the head at some stage.

the head on my car has been changed sometime so im guessin this explains why but still was a trip when i was lookin at it.

thats abit similar to what ours is like. I will get some photos tomorrow so we can discuss it more but we are not only missing a couple of vac hoses but the throttle body is the opposite was up which means the sinsor is on the bottom of the unit and a couple of other bits are moved around which is going to involve some re-routing. The ports look very similar size wise but I have now got a nice new set of 325i gaskets to match up with the manifold which I am going to try up against the head to see if there is actually any difference as their doesnt feel to be.

Thanks for all the info guys, I will be back with more questions and pictres soooon! :D
