Picked up my 325i sport mtec 2 last week and love it to bits.
However at around 10-20 mph on full lock (either direction) and in gear there is a strange graunching noise coming from the rear end.
It almost sounds like the tyres rubbing the arch but stops instantly when I dip the clutch. The car is totally standard including wheels and tyres so I know it's not them rubbing.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Could be an unhappy diff from your description of when the noise occurs.

I was hoping no one would say that but I was thinking it could be the diff or possalbly a cv joint. :(

Just took the car for a spin and had someone in the back.
The noise went away??? Came back again when they got out, could it still be the diff or maybe the doughnut etc? Confused!
