Hi guys and gals, Just changed a bearing on my 1989 318i 2 door and noticed my discs and pads are crumbling to pieces!!

I'm quite new to the hole modifying thing so want know whats a good 'value for money' upgrade? I mean its never gonna need the stopping power of an M3 or anything but I would like summit that feels a little more responsive.

I see adverts for GREEN STUFF and all sorts but are these things worth the extra dosh?

Cheers Geo1400

Go to GSF and get the standard discs, which are made by Brembo, don't get fobbed off whith te cheap ones they sell for the same price! And get the Pagid fast road pads, a little more expensive but damn good. I have tried green stuff and although they had a little more bite they were no better really and squeaked the whole time I had the car.

i hated the braking on my CaB,under load on the M-way it didnt even feel safe if i ever needed to stop suddenly..

I upgraded to Tarox Discs and Pads, one word..superb

work like a dream,no squeals even when first put on,kept standard discs on rear but upgraded to Tarox pads.

I would have thought the obvious upgrade for a 318i is a set of vented discs and calipers from a touring or a 320/325.
