I have just bought a new Autoleads aeriel to replace the one I have had on the car thats never gone up or down.

However plugging it into the current wiring and nothing works, except the radio. The mast stays stationary.

Is there a fuse that I need to check? Or maybe you boffins know that I need to do something to connect it to the Alpine head unit.

I am not the most electrically minded person but can get by. A step by step guide would be great.

Cheers in advance for your help.

There is usually a trigger wire that needs to be connected from the head unit, usually blue in colour... do you know if this is connected?

I will have to have a look. What type of connection will it be and will it be coming out of the head unit or is it part of the cars loom?

Also did you have any joy fitting those tweeters in the end. Any advice on that would be great!

Cheers

There should be two wires in the boot connecting to the aerial, the red wire is a permanent 12V supply and the white one is the 12V trigger wire. You can easily check that you have power in these with a multimeter or test lamp. The red wire connects into the loom behind the glovebox while the white wire will connect to the back of the radio.
