I was already planning to fit new front discs, pads and fluid next weekend, but what do I do about binding brakes?! Is there a caliper rebuild kit available or are new / recon calipers the only way?

Cheers :thumb:

It's probably cheaper to stick some second hand one's on mate :D
Other than that, clean the slider's and chuck on some new grease and see if that help's before any expense

if it turns out that the sliders are sticky they can be free'd off easy enough and re-greased, but if it turns out to be the pistons it would be better to replace the calipers.

Most of the time it's the pads stuck on the carriers though 8)

Cheers guys, I'll just see what happens when I swap the pads - I'll give it all a good clean up & hopefully that'll do it :thumb:

the seal was perforated on mine that let water in and when the piston was pushed out (after taking it off the disc) you could see the chrome plating on the piston had flaked off, so it would only be a matter of time before it ripped the inner seal and lost fluid. I just changed the whole thing so i don't have to worry about it for a while.
There is NO nucleus.

Hmmm... I might be better off just getting a spare pair of calipers - I'd want to have em there so I could sort it out there & then... Are all e30 calipers the same? Or are some wider to cope with vented disks or anything? :?
