I have posted with this problem before but it is really doing my head and wallet in!! I havebeen getting 199 miles to a full tank of unleaded????
I've done the following:

New thermostat
plugs/rotor arm/ dizzy cap
oil change

My MPG gauge shoots down to 10 -15 mpg even if i put my foot on the accelerator a tiny bit. The car runs fine and I don't want to get rid of it. Any ideas???

I can't see any petrol leaks anywhere? Could it be an electrical fault on the ECU???

cheers,

John

the m40 engines are prone to a fuel pipe leakage near the injectors - check this.

Thanks guys,

Is it an easy job to check the injectors cos it seems there's an awful lot of crap on top of the engine (manifold) any tips on what to remove first/

cheers,

john
