m3 lsd into 318is casing?

Hi there, a friend of mine has bought a 318is, and has found an lsd from an m3, would the lsd unit from a 88 m3 fit a 91 318is using the original 318 casing and cwp?
if not, what casing and cwp will this diff fit?

i dont think it will as the m3 is a large casing diff with stronger cwp.

ull need either fit a 325 sport diff 3.9 ratio or if u can find one a rare 4.1 ratio lsd from a sport
