hi all just picked up a f reg bmw 325i se auto in black tidy etc

i have a problem with the dash clocks
stripped them down cos i have no speedo/revs and temp/ fuel works
the si broad is knacked
this set of clocks has a green contect on it ! what is the green conection for anyone got a clue

can i use clock from any model cos i have some but on 3 plugs and with them in speedo still dont work but fuel and revs do #

Green connector is only fitted to a few E30 instument panels, and used on even less. One of the outputs is speed related and can be used for speed controlled volume with suitable radios, and I imagine is also used with cruise control.
You can use any set of clocks, or any assembly in a set of clocks, but retain the white coding plug that is pushed into the lower right front face.
Sounds like your original set was faulty with the rev counter etc.
Most likely cause of the dud speedo is an internal break in one of the wires that goes to the speedo pick up in the back casing of the diff.
