A/C removal

i'm doing away with the A/C in my car as it didn't work anyway. i started to remove the lines and i noticed that two fuel lines are routed to the A/C line what should i do with these so i can get that line out of my engine bay. also are there any tips that anyone can recommend i do?

You could try sending Toby Unna a quick PM, I know he has removed an A/C system from a car in a breakers, I'm trying to fit a system!

Funny that. I'm looking at possibly fitting an a/c system!
Just looking at getting donor car with it fitted as I need a few other bits and bobs too.
Here's a question for anyone. I've noticed that some a/c systems have a grill at the front on the centre console where normally it is a storage hole in front of the ash tray. Does the grill signify a retro-fit a/c system or is that standard?

My M3 has this system, it is simpy a dealer fitted system rather than a factory fitted system.

i'm in the process of ripping the A/C out of my 320i but mine doesn't seem to run anywhere near fuel lines. where about is yours close to the lines? is it in the passenger compartment because i haven't got to that bit yet?

The fuel lines run across the bulkhead and enter the A/C line there are two im not sure if this was to cool the fuel or what. The A/C line runs from the compressor to the interior.
One thing you will never see though is fuel lines that run to the interior

Fuel line to air con pipes is a fuel pre cooler.
Never seen one, but to remove it, I would imagine you cut the steel fuel pipe where it comes up on the LH inner wing to the same length as the return line, and fit a length of high pressure hose between the shortened supply pipe and the fuel rail.
On a M20 with standard fuel lines, the supply and return pipes run parallel with each other, as do the flexible lines.
Make sure you don't take the fuel filter out of circuit.

Buster, any E30 M3 fan will fit, you will just need to get the brackets, as they are slightly different to a non A/C fan, as they bolt to the condensor.

I have a spare one sat on my garage floor, I replaced it as it get's a little stiff at one point when turned by hand, and if the fan happens to stop in that position, when it next switches on it blows the fuse.

If it's of any use to you, let me know, cover the postage and it's yours, comes with the A/C brackets too.

Is it 14" diameter curved blades and sits infront of the rad ?

Not sure about diameter, but all M3 fan's are the same size, it has curved blades, comes in it's own surround, and sits in front of the rad.

I've got one of these systems in my touring. They were fitted by Salmon Diavia and were a BMW approved item as I believe there wasn't a factory option for the 3 series at this time. It may be worth contacting them direct. I've still got the dealer supplied handbook for mine somewhere, I'll have a look for a contact address and come back again.
