Bugger, had the car 48hours and already broken it already.

Adjusted the seat back and now it wont lock in position. I've taken the black trim panel off and nothing seens to be wrong with the mechanism...on the outside atleast, but i didnt fully check it as it was late last night and i only had a torch to work by.

Any ideas?

Regards
Iain

You may need new recliner mechanisms (the cogs on each side where the back joins the base), the drivers seat in my cab has gone the same the same way.

Welcome to E30 ownership!

Are these a main dealer part, or can GSF/ECP help? I've got a quick fix by wedging a rigid suitcase between the back of the seat and the back seats!

It is possible that the metal frame in your seat has cracked around the the hinge for the seat back.

If it has and you would like a replacement let me know.

Cheers,
Chris
