My speedometer quit on my 86 320i. I was wondering if anyone knew where the speed control unit is on this car. It is an electronic speedo and i don;t think it's broken.

it's electronic mate, there is a plug on the back of your diff on the right hand side, usually the wires running to the plug break eithre as they enter the plug or a foot or so away.

Best thing to do is rape some wire from a breaker, make sure you cut as much away as possible, at least 12", then splice in, solder if possible.

If you need a plug for any reason then the front fog plugs are the same.
