Smooth idle when warm or cold, at about 850rpm. However for the first couple of minutes from startup. there is hesitation when you touch the accelerator, and stalls very easily.
Checked for air leaks.
ICV ok
TPS working.
Should the idle be higher when cold?
Stuart.

You could try changing the blue temp sender, I had problems with starting and tick over when cold and it use to just cut out on me. I asked on here and more than a few suggested the blue temp sender and they were spot on the car is now back purring like a kitten and it only cost Ԛ£11.75 inc VAT and fitting its no problem either. Good luck

Already changed that - I should have said, thanks anyway.
I did originally have an idle problem, and it was a combination of the blue sensor, and the TPS. I replaced them both, and put a 325i Throttle Body on there while I was at it. The idle is perfect now, hot or cold. Acceleration is smooth, with no flat spots. Its just this hesitation problem, that makes pulling away without stalling very tricky for the first couple of minutes. Oh, and when it does stall, it's sometimes hard to start again like the engine is flooded.
What I am unsure about, is that the idle never moves from around 850rpm - should it be higher when cold? My 325i Sport idles above 1000rpm when very cold, but drops thereafter.
