not sure tbh fella

never rr,d one before or after
but its a very common and cheap upgrade and definatly makes the car a lot more useable

improves throttle response quite a bit compared to standard

not gonna feel like a 325 but is a step closer winkeye

trit21

do a search for the above on here

im sure theres a lot more info than i can give
the above is just my experience of the above mods

We've been here many times before! Nothing wrong with M20B20 engines as long as you enjoy them as they are, but it really is a waste of time and money (except in Eire) to try and tune them. If you're going to fit a 2.5 throttle body, then leave it attached to the rest of the 2.5 engine and fit the whole thing.

But yes, please buy a real engine soon!

There seems so many of these 320/325 wars on this forum. I've driven many BMW's old and new, and owned a fair few, and they all have their good and bad points. I've got a friend who runs a beamer breakers and there's generally more big engined ones written off (including one of my 325's!), and some with corpses recently removed (nice). Maybe we should all stop comparing manhoods and get back to helping each other out, which I believe is the purpose of this forum?! Shame on you all!

Read the OP. How can I get more power?
We have helped him. We've advised him to enjoy it as it is or swap the engine, not to waste time tuning a B20.

Yeah, I know, was just wondering when someone could post a question about a 320i without being advised to trade it in! I'll just sit in the corner and be quiet...

Braincat what can I say your a rare voice of reason, I think people forget this is a E30 (meaning every e30) forum and not a "325 and run down 320's" forum.

P.S and yes I did read the OP !

There is a lot of banter here about 320i vs 325i but the main point is Ԛ£ for Ԛ£ an M20 2.5 makes a lot more sence than spending money on the M20 2 litre. Either way the imho the M20 is a lot more pleasurable to drive than M40 cars.

Anyone on this forum who asks a question about a 320i will not be advised to trade it in - unless they ask questions about how to get more power, when trading it in becomes the only sensible option. (Unless you keep the head and put it on a 2.7 bottom end).

Well, for my part i've been searching on and off for tuning the 320 for over a year now and 9 replies out of ten say to swap the engine. Some of us just don't want to or feel safer with the lump we already have or whatever.
Could someone explain then what difference a 2.7 bottom end would make.
I.e power increase, torque. (Don't end your comment with a comparrison to the 325 pleeeeeze). A know bhp/torque figure from someone who's done this would be even better.

i was also considereing doing the 325Tb mod on my 320 cab, even have the Tb and stuff ready but not really arsed about doing it what with grinding and cleaning etc, especially as i cant be arsed to buy a chip too, plus i have a 325 so if i want to go faster i drive that, and faster still i drive my Z3 3.0 coupe.

leave the engine alone, if you have a 325 TB lying about then do that mod but i dont believe there will be any appraciatable difference.

open the window, hang your arm out low and listen to arguably the best sounding exhaust of all the E30 range above 3K. and remember the quicker you drive the less chance people will see you!
