My touring's headlining is sagging, from the bootlid to the sunroof - practically!
How easy is it to change the whole lining or glue it back up?
How is held in? I don't want ot mess it up trying to take it out to fix/ replace it on;y to find that it will be impossible to put it back in or get one out of the donor car in one piece!

Headlining can be removed and refitted OK.
It's a fairly common problem on E30s though, so make sure you get a good replacement. If anyone has successfully restuck one in situ, I'd be interested in how and what glue they used as I've one that has collapsed to about half way over.
As a (hopefully) temporary measure, I found a strip of white 20mm wide flat PVC strip, cut to length so that it is janmmed in the roof with the ends stuck in the top of the rear seat belt covers. This has just about solved the problem, and since I've fitted it no-one has noticed the strip of PVC or that the linng is sagging.

I'm going to try a trick learnt from the Chinese when making Crispy Skin Duck!
Insert needle of bike pump under the skin, and pump to balloon the skin away from the meat. In this case, cut a small nick in the lining, use spray adhesive and a nozzle, then sponge it back on.. NOT PUSHED.. but sponge lightly.. just enough for it to hold.. the leave. Going to try this once i get some glue!
Hope to hell this works!! I had to cut the front half of my headlining to fit my sunroof panel.. Not sure if that was right.. but hey.. It's screwed now so all I can do to it it screw it a bit more!!

As a suggestion, try carpet tile adhesive. You could spray it in with an extension tube on the aerosol nozzle.
