Is it normal for the car to "jump" when the battery has been disconeected or new chip fitted. It happens like a huge flat spot when accelerating in 2nd then everything is fine.

I dont know about jumping as such but it seems to be accecpted that when you dissconect the power to the ecu once its re-connected it has to "re-learn" all the settings and fuel mapping information before the car will run normaly again. Sorry I cant be of more help !

Mines not chipped but i get this the first time i run the car after disconnecting the battery/resetting the ECU

Hit somewhere around 2.5k, either get a stutter or one big jolt then it never happens again!

Exactly the same as mine matt, I guess it's like grantley say's it's re-learning. That's ok then. Cheers.
