will the addition of a cam change my car from a 2.5 to a 2.7/ 2.8 depending on the camm size as i have seen that ren327i has a 2.7 but the only addition to the car is a camm? can anyone explain to me what a camm does and how it will change the performance of my 325i? thanks zoners. the one im after is the zone Engine Tuning - Schrick Cam - 272/272 M20 Engine!

A cam will not change your car from a 2.5 to a 2.7.
A cam will alter the lift and duration of the valves which will move the power/torque band up or down the rev range, depending on the choice of cam. A cam with a high lift and long duration will improve high-end power but will almost always sacrifice low-end torque and cause rough idling.
